Are you letting yourself shine?

Are you letting yourself shine? We all like tests that help us understand ourselves better. Right? This is a quick one: Do you feel like you’re glowing from the inside? Full of enthusiasm? Powerful? Confident? Sexy? Beautiful? Authentic?

Yes. Then super Yay! You’re tapped into your inner superpowers, and you’re allowing yourself to shine and thrive.

And, well, if this question triggers a negative response inside. “Oh, another one of those.” “Bla, bla, bla…” Irritated?! You’re probably not shining from the inside.

You’re not alone. There are so many reasons women do this. Do you find yourself
keeping your head down? Trying not to stick out? Deliberately turning off your ability to shine? Here in Holland, and other northern European countries, it’s part of their culture
not to stick out too much. Not to allow yourself to shine too much, as then you’re not conforming to the idea that everyone is the same or equal. They have sayings like “act normal” and something like “Don’t be crazy” telling you to literally switch off, and blend in. There are some benefits of this, but after having lived here for so long, I’ve seen the negative impact this can have on people, specifically women.

“What about the rest of us?” You ask. Well, western society doesn’t actively encourage women to express their Ladyliciousness anywhere really. But perhaps it’s closer than that. Perhaps no one has ever taught you how to safeguard and express your inner essence. Perhaps your partner doesn’t take the time to see you with true presence.  Perhaps juggling all of the many roles and responsibilities you have in your life, has you feeling exhausted, undervalued, and drained. Perhaps your job has you worn down, feeling diminished and without challenge. Perhaps you didn’t know it was possible to feel that way as a regular awareness. Perhaps you’ve chosen to settle, instead of live your truth. Perhaps it’s your culture, as is the case for many Northern Europeans. Maybe it’s just an accumulation of all of modern day stresses, impulses, and pressure.

Whatever the reasons are for switching off, it’s a beautiful process to watch someone switch on their inner shine. My students often leave sessions or class, feeling a rush of The feeling one gets when living holistically in harmony with yourself.
Body, Mind and Soul (1)endless energy, feeling connected and the warm glow radiating off of them. “What’s happening to me?” they ask. Easy: They’ve tapped into their feminine superpowers and turned on to life. Often having neglected this essential part of themselves most of their lives, it becomes unrecognizable (and sometimes overwhelming at first) when they start living from this connected, authentic place. Wherever she goes, she is noticed. One student even told me babies wouldn’t stop staring at her now.

As MamaGena says “When a woman’s light is on, she is approachable. You can connect with her. She is open, beautiful, filled with life. She ignites you and takes you higher. She walks into a room, and no matter what she’s wearing, what she says or does . . . she just glows. She’s magnetic.”

It takes conscious intention, courage, and willingness to open up your perceptions. That will free you from the patterns, labels and projections placed on you, or that you place on yourself. Women who are connected to it, naturally radiate from the inside out, showing their confidence, vulnerability, passion, sexiness, sensuality, health, happiness…. And which woman out there doesn’t want to feel that?! This doesn’t mean that it doesn’t switch off sometimes, but women who are used to shining, know exactly how to ignite the fire and start glowing again.

This glow comes from your Ladyliciousness. It is your essence. Your light. Your life force. It is you. No one can take it away from you… except you. And you are the only one who can turn it on.

“I have a light shining inside of me. No one can take it away”

IMG_5439“I have a light shining inside of me. No one can take it away”. While travelling through Brazil years ago, a dear shaman I met named Wilma, told me to look in a mirror every single day, and say these words to myself. She told me I was a shaman, sensitive like her, and with her insightful words, triggered a huge healing period in my life. Resurrecting and setting me on a path towards my power, sharing my true passions, my gifts, my abundance, my sensitivities and the responsibilities they carry, my powerful vulnerability, unleashing my creativity, my sensual sexuality, igniting my inner Ladyliciousness… a path that I’m still exploring and sharing with you.
